LONDON MARATHON EVENTS STAFF MEMBER SHARES HER EXPERIENCE OF THE CARNIVAL RUN

The Emancipated Run Crew at the 2022 Notting Hill Carnival. In August 2022, a group of staff members from London Marathon Events (LME) volunteered at the Notting Hill Carnival to help the Emancipated Run Crew (ERC) deliver a 5K run to open the celebrations.
ERC FOUNDERS GAIN LEADERSHIP IN RUNNING FITNESS QUALIFICATIONS.

We are pleased to announce that Denise, Jules and Trojan are now qualified as a UK Athletics Coach, with the Leadership in Running Fitness qualification. This means that they will be licensed and insured to lead group runs.
Currently Trojan is holding a weekly long run, 10km or longer each week and Jules and Dee are holding a weekly Monday evening Women’s Run.

We also would like to thank the Running Major of Croydon Hasan Hassan for his support in this process. We appreciate really appreciate you stepping up when we needed you.

ERC RUNNER OF THE MONTH - TADWORTH 10 JANUARY 2022
January 1, 2022
ERC took the start of 2022 by the horn of the bull and 11 ERC members took part in its first 10 mile trail run. We run up hills, muddy pathways, through a woodland and finished on the worlds famous Epsom Racetrack.
This award was also shared by Courtney as well.
Thanks to Lululemon for gifting our running outfits.

Hosted by Omari Williams and Michael Johnson, the panellists joining Jules for this discussion on the importance of community participation in sports are Ryan Conway (Reporter, The Athletic UK) and Mani Arthur (Founder, Black Cyclist Network).
They share their career journeys, how their own experiences have shaped their careers and discuss the importance of community. Watch the session here!
